I’m extremely disappointed with our experience with the Comfort Inn & Suites for our wedding hotel block.
Where to begin. We booked a hotel room block at the Comfort Inn & Suites in Harrisonville, MO for our wedding in October 2017, located only 0.3 mi away from our reception at The Beck Event Space. My initial contact with the manager Katy was positive -- she made it easy to book and gave us discounted room block rates.
Furthermore, the hotel experienced flood damage in the weeks leading up to the wedding, but again failed to notify us. When I checked into the hotel the night before my wedding, the carpet was ripped up in the lobby and the wallpaper was peeling from the walls in the first floor hallway. It looked atrocious.
At that point, we started researching other hotels in the area and booked a second room block at the Holiday Inn Express down the highway. We’re so glad we did, because our room block at the Comfort Inn quickly filled up -- but the hotel failed to inform us and our guests were being turned away without our knowledge.
The front desk staff was very unprofessional and unhelpful. The hotel was overbooked, and so my parents -- the parents of the bride -- were not given all the rooms they’d reserved. They had to go 20 min away to the Quality Inn, which caused undue stress for my family the day before the wedding. The manager on duty was extremely unhelpful with resolving the situation and only offered to provide accommodation at another hotel after my parents asked. No other solutions were provided for the hotel's error.
In a supposedly 100% smoke-free hotel, our room reeked of it. We informed the night stay, who promptly came and sprayed deodorizer, which helped a little, and said he'd inform the manager. When we visited the front desk the next morning, no note was left, and no other rooms were available as they were fully booked - and they offered no other recompense. The complimentary breakfast was clearly cheap and nothing seemed fresh. Overall, poor experience.
It all went downhill from there. I learned from the reception venue that the hotel would be undergoing renovation in the fall, which would conflict with the timing of my wedding. I was not informed of this when I booked the room block and I tried to reach the manager at the hotel for an update on the renovation, but wasn’t able to get through to her for weeks.
the staff were very friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. The only thing was the hotel was under construction getting a makeover!! which really didn't bother us at all.
We were in our room when somebody turned the music on their phone on and we could hear it in the room next to us. We vould even hear the person knock on the door to shut it off. They ended up getting it turned off, so a 3/5 stars
The room was comfortable and breakfast was good. The hotel is being remodeled at the beginning of the new year so the flooring on the lobby had been stripped and wallpaper was hanging loose. The pool and weight room were not available for use. For a quick overnight stay, it worked for us.
