I'm sure somewhere in the fine print of the loan application it says something about their right to do this but it is deceitful ,dishonest and I am sure done completely out of corporate greed. Someone decided to keep that money for themselves instead.
At the very least they should have grandfathered people in that had signed loans according to those terms.
Now they are nothing more than a bank or a credit union. They have nothing to offer and because of this deceitfulness I will no longer do business with them.
Took out a loan for land with them under the agreement that I could keep about $18,000 in a funds held account which basically makes it so you're not paying interest on that much of the loan. It is a very useful service which allows you a space cushion and the only reason I decided to go with them for the loan in the first place.
Less than a year later they announced that they were"reducing" the amount paid in funds held and no longer matching your interest rate on the loan but reducing it to 1%. This effectively eliminates the funds held account as you can get 1% from any savings account at any bank.
